L&D at Yellow Birds school clubs

Learning & Development through Play

Our play programmes are designed following the weekly theme set by the Early Years Foundation Stage Coordinator of our host school (or the school where the majority of children attend).

They are also reflective of the children’s current interest, social and religious events. Our planning is reviewed daily to help us monitor and evaluate the activities we provide. This ensures we follow our company’s aims to facilitate learning and development through play.

The focus is given to the 3 areas of learning: Communication and Language, Personal Social Emotional Development and Physical Development. We recap or extend what is taught in the classroom, differentiating to appeal to all of our children across our age groups.

We provide a large range of play opportunities to ensure that there are plenty of choices for the children to be challenged, enriched and to stimulate their educational and social development.

Homework support is provided during the After school club session. Children who attend three or more sessions per week are given an allocated reading day.
